WOOL LEVY BASIS
Change Sought In Australia
(N.Z. Press Assn. —Copyrioht) MELBOURNE. Nov. 1
The Australian Wool Industry Conference considers that, “in principle,” the wool levy should be collected on an income basis, instead of a per bale basis as at present. The chairman of the Australian Wool Board, Sir William Gunn, announced this in a national broadcast on the new world promotion scheme.
Hie conference was expected to announce its decision on the method of collecting the levy on November 6, he added. Six checks had been made on the recommended world wool promotion budget of £Al6m. and the Wool Industry Conference was making another check now, Sir William Gunn said.
