Strong Demand For N.Z. Shares At Close

. New Zealand shares were in strong demand at the close of the week’s trading on the stock exchange yesterday. Only one leader, National Engineering and Electrical, sold at a lower price, while eight leaders made small gains. Other issues made slightly more gains than losses, but most shares sold unchanged. Overseas issues were also very firm. EJS. and A. Bank and Daigety each rose 3s 6d. Homes fell Is 6d, but over-all there were four gains for each loss.
