No Dirges, By Request

AUCKLAND, Nov. 1. A request that no dirge* should be played at hi* funeral was made in the will of Mr Thoma* Edward Price, patron of the Auckland Welsh Society, who died last week, aged 89.
Instead. Mr Priee. a Justice of tile Peace, asked for the Hallelujah chorus from "The Messiah" by Handel to be
played on the organ and that member* of the society should sing hi* favourite hymn. Hi* wishes were carried out at a service at St. John's Church, Ponaenby. Mr Priee, a grocer in Ponsonby for many year*, arrived in New Zealand
from North Wale* as a boy. There are no surviving members of bi* family in New Zealand. Two niece* live in Wale*.
