FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.—A cold front is moving slowly northeast off the Auckland district while an anti-cyclone in the south Tasman Sea moves slowly towards the central districts of New Zealand. Forecast:

Canterbury,—Moderate end variable southwesterlies at times on the coast; some areas of low cloud at first with scattered light showers; otherwise partly cloudy; moderate temperatures. Outlook: partly cloudy.

Nelson.—Light variable winds, some morning low cloud; otherwise fine; moderate to mild temperatures. Outlook: fine.

Marlborough, Buller and Westland.—Winds moderate and variable; some scattered areas of morning drizzle: otherwise partly cloudy; moderate temperatures. Outlook partly cloudy. CHRISTCHURCH READINGS
