TWENTY-FIFTH ANNIVERSARY
North Canterbury
C.W.I.
Arrangements for celebrating the twenty-fifth anniversary of the North Canterbury Federation of Country Women’s Institutes on February 18 in Christchurch were made at a recent executive meeting of the federation. At this celebration, to be held at the Winter Garden, a luncheon, afternoon tea, a mannequin parade and a musical programme will be provided.
It was announced that the federation’s annual meeting will be held at Cheviot in April next year. Mrs C. H. Bethell presided at the executive meeting and reported on the Kaiapoi institute’s birthday party, the Omihi institute’s flower show and the Canterbury federation's half-yearly meeting, which she attended. She thanked members of the executive for entertaining members of the Belmont institute at luncheon at Hanmer Springs and at other places pf interest in North Canterbury. Mrs F. Barnard gave a report on the October meeting of the Christchurch branch of the National Council of Women, which she attended as a delegate.
