4th Wheat Deal
(N.Z. Pros* Asm —Copyright) OTTAWA, October 81. The Canadian Government vesterday signed a tniluon-dollar wheat agreement to sell Ceechoslovakia 44.4 million bushels during the next five years. It was the fourth major grain agreement concluded by Canada with Communist nations in recent weeks.
The mate sale was a record 500 million dolten contract with the Soviet Union. Others were a three-year agreement with China, and a smaller sale to Bulgaria. Under the Czech agreement, Canadian transportation facilities, already taxed to meet the Soviet conawot, will have to deliver 1.20,000 tons to Czechoslovakia by the end of the current crop year next July 31. The remainder of the new contract will be delivered over the tollowing four yeans.
