SURF RIDERS TO VISIT N.Z.
A team of about 12 surf riders representing the Australian Surfing Association wiM be visiting New Zealand shortly after Christmas, the world surf board champion, Bernard “Midget” Farrelly, of Sydney, said to an interview to Christchurch yesterday. Mr. Farrelly, who is the president of the Australian Surfing Associations recently gave a demonstration at the Masterton “Golden Games” and after spending yesterday in the city he left for home by. air. While to Christchurch, he spent most of his time to the company of D. Quane (Sumner), who was runner-up for the New Zealand surf board title last season. Both have a common interest in that they are surf board manufacturers.
The visit, which will definately be made in the coming season, is expected to embrace many at the major dties to the country with Rood surf riding beaches within easy reach. Mir Farrelly will accompany the teem.
