My Contact Has Leg Injury
(NJ!. Press Association) MELBOURNE, Oct 3a. The New Zealand horse, My Contact, equal third favourite for the Melbourne Cup on Tuesday, has given his near foreleg a knock. The injury is not serious. His trainer, W. C. Winder, today described the injury as superficial. He said My Contact would not race again before the cup. Winder said the knock on the leg had nothing to do with My Contact’s not starting this Saturday. He considered the horse had had enough racing to prepare him for the two-mile Melbourne Cup. The Moonee Valley Cup win brought My Contact into favour for the Melbourne Cup.
