“Cobham” Tunnel
Sir,—Some 12 months ago I wrote to try if possible to impress on your readers the honour that was due to our former Governor-General (Lord Cobham), in suggesting the title of “Cobham” Tunnel for our new access to Canterbury. How wonderful it would be after his grandfather had the honour <2 having the first "hole in the hill” known as the “Lyttelton” tunnel. I feel sure, as a member of the Pilgrims’ Association of Canterbury, that our forebears would be honoured if our beloved Queen Mother had the privilege to open the “Cobham” tunnel. Canterbury should not argue over this. There is only one name far our tunnel—Yours, etc., H. B. KAY. October 31, 1963.
