New Offices At Hospital

New offices for the medical superintendent-in-chief apd matron-in-chief of the North Canterbury Hospital Board are being provided in what was the assistant matron’s flat in the ground floor of the nurses’ old home at the Christchurch Hospital. The work of conversion is under way and should soon be completed. the board’s secretary (Mr J. G. Laurenson) said yesterday. The move for the matron-in-chief had been made necessary by the creation of the position of matron of the Christchurch Hospital as a separate post. Similar considerations applied in the case of the medical superin-, tendency, because the board had in view the possible appointment of an additional senior medical administrator, Mr Laurenson said.
