RARE FROG FOUND

(N.Z. Press Association) .GISBORNE, October 29. Pausing for a drink from a stream, Mr W. Cooper, a shepherd on Kiritahi station, near Te Araroa, found one of New Zealand’s rarest natives, a tiny dark-brown frog. Only one and a quarter inches in length, toe frog was identified at the school a t Te Aranoa as leiopelma Hochstetteri, the native New Zealand frog, which has almost lost its ability to swim.

Canada intends to preserve in a museum at Delson 40 authentic pieces of toe rolling stock which has provided rail transport through the years and played such a vital role in her development.— Reuter.
