PROTECTION FOR BOATS
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter — Copyright) KUALA LUMPUR. Oct. 28. The Malaysian Government is providing armed guards for its fishing fleets in toe Straits of Malacca. This follows weeks of shooting, sinkings and harassment by gunboats which fishermen and small traders claim are Indonesian Government vessels.
“Our fishermen can now fish without fear of attack,” Malaysian spokesmen reported.
The Government has other measures in mind also.
