CHARGE OF MURDER
Trial To Start On Dec. 9
The trial of Russell Gray Moffitt, a student, on a charge of murdering Alison Judith Harper, will commence in the Supreme Court in Christchurch on December 9. This date was announced yesterday by the Registrar of the Supreme Court, Mr J. L. W. Gerken.
At yesterday morning's opening of the new Supreme Court session in Christchurch Mr Justice Macarthur mentioned the possibility that counsel for the defence in this case might be in some difficulty in being ready at an early date, because the depositions were taken only last week.
Deaths In Fire.—Three persons, including two children, were killed and at least several others injured when a fire razed the market in Cebu City, southern Philippines.— Manila, Oct. 28.
