Values fo r all descriptions were fully firm on opening rates on the second day of the Sydney wool sales today There was an animated tone under spirited competition from Japan, the Continent, Eastern Europe and the United Kingdom. Wools were generally of good length and light to medium fault. Prices included: good average 60 '64's. 82d per lb; good average 60s. 82%d; good average 56’s. 78’2d. Melbourne Steady The strong general competition which was a feature yesterday continued with slight movement in sellers’ favour at the Melbourne wool sales.
The chief buyers were Japan, the Continent, the United Kingdom and Australian mills.
