The purchase by Australia <rf American planes in preference to the British TSH2 bomber was the whirlwind Britain was reaping as a result of neglecting ©npire trade, the “Daily Express” said today. "Instead of seeking to restore the confidence of Commonwealth nations, the Government under Sir Alec Douglas-Home, still hankers after the Common Market,” the "Daily Express” added. A Melbourne message says the Prime Minister (Sir Robert Menzies) told a television interviewer that the American TFX bomber would cost Australia considerably less than die TSR2. "The cdst favours the TFX so much that no government could have spent the money on anything else,” he said.
