CUP TRIALS TOMORROW

10-Race Card To Be Run

Seven New Zealand Cup candidates will contest the A. L Matson Memorial Handicap at Addington tomorrow when the Canterbury Trotting Owners' and Breeders’ Association will hold the annual cup trials.

Cardigan Bay will be the back-marker on 54 yards, while his other rivals will be Vanderford. Doctor Dan, King Hal. Grouse. Oreti and Dandy Briar.

The fields for the other nine races have filled well, their numbers including most of the Canterbury horses engaged throughout the cup meeting, which will open at Addington on November 12. Trophies valued at more than £2OO will be attached to the 10 races, the first of which will be run at 11 a m., with the Matson Memorial Handicap at 1 p.m The Christchurch Trotting Club will operate an equalisator and there will be a double run on the fourth and sixth races.
