EDUCATION ON TV

Proposal For Channel

(NX Press Association) WELLINGTON, Oct. 29.

The New Zealand Broadcasting Corporation will be asked to reserve a television channel for use for educational purposes, after a decision made today by the council of Victoria University of Wellington. “Ultimately one channel could be used by all the universities in the country and by other higher education bodies,” said the acting ViceChancellor, Professor I. D. Campbell. “But if we do not apply for it now we could be too late.” he said. The matter was referred to the Vice-Chancellor’s committee to enable other university authorities to be appraised of the council’s proposal.
