Man Killed In Car (NX. Press Association) DUNEDIN, October 28 An elderly man w’ao killed when his car was struok by the north-bound express on a level crossing half a mile south of Seacliff a* 12.45 pjn. today. He was Edward McUskey North, aged 79, a dairy farmer, of Omimd. a township just south of Seacliff. Mr North was alone in the car which was ttirawn 36ft down an embankment, and came to rest in a paddock. It was extensively damaged. Owner of the Rosevale Stud at Omiimi. Mr North was a breeder of champion PYieaien cattle for more than 50 years. In 1913, two Friesian cattle were imported from Canada and they became the foundation of the Rosevale Stud which was then operated by Mr North, his bro.lier and his father. There are few Friesian herds in existence which do not trace to the Rosevale foundation stock During the thirties, one of his oows held the world championship as a milk producer. Mr North was the longest serving member of the council of the New Zealand Friesian Association <4l years), a former president, and an honorary life member. He was a former president of the Otago Agriculture! and Pastoral Society, and was a life member.
