RHODESIAN PLANES
Bid To Stop Transfer (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) NEW YORK, Sept. 10. • Thirty - two African nations sought United Nations Security Council action yesterday to prevent Britain from transferring a fleet, of fighter and bomber aeroplanes to the white-domin-ated Government of Southern Rhodesia. The leader of the British delegation. Sir Patrick Dean, argued that the council has no jurisdiction to deal with conditions in Southern Rhodesia, which Britain has declared a self-governing territory.
He denied that there was any danger to peace in the steps being taken by Britain to bring the territory to independence. He said the Security Council move threatened to interfere with a now peaceful plan.
