Business Discourtesy
Sir,—Two items in today’s issue were of special interest. the article referring to share allocations, and the letter signed "M.T.” Please permit me to enlarge on the latter. On August 28, a
telegram was sent to the secretary of a very large rubber company in Wellington, drawing attention to the very low dividend rate of 4i per cent on the preference shares of that company; also suggesting that it be raised to justify par value of such shares. The telegram was confirmed, but up to the time of writing neither has been acknowledged. However, at a forthcoming extraordinary general meeting, when a resolution which will have the effect of still greater disparity, will be considered, the reason for the silence may be learned. —Yours, etc., ALSO DISGUSTED. September 11, 1963.
