Roadside Litter
Sir,—Some county councils prosecute offenders who deposit rubbish on the roads. An exception, evidently, is the Malvern County Council. Many months ago a contractor topped and trimmed trees growing on Selwyn Plantation Board property, which were overhanging a Malvern Power Board line on the Tramway road near Kirwee. The branches still lie on the roadside in a very unsightly and dangerous state. Some even protrude on to the carriageway.—Yours, etc.. U. R. LITTERBUG, September 2, 1963. [The Malvern County Engineer (Mr J. E. McArthur) said: “It is not the council's policy to comment on anonymous correspondence.”]
