EXEMPTION CLAIM
Court Reserves Decision (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Sept. 10. If there was any upset in the industrial negotiations of Utab-Williamson-Bumett for its Deep Cove contract then the upeet had arisen from within the industrial movement’s own ranks, the advocate for the contractors (Mr F. W. McCullough) said today in the Arbitration Court. The contractors have approached the Court for exemption from 23 awards so that they can negotiate one industrial agreement covering all workers on the job. The Court reserved its decision early this afternoon. Mr McCullough said the contractors had acted on advice, apparently from several quarters, in approaching the Workers' Union with the idea of negotiating the one agreement with that union.
