Suggestion For N.Z. Titles A firm recommendation that teams play only one game a day in the New Zealand championships is to be made to the New Zealand Men’s Basketball Association by the ' newlyformed national coaches’ association. The new association decided to make the recommendation at its first conference, held in Christchurch on Saturday morning. In the New Zealand championships, which ended in Christchurch on Friday, all the 12 teams competing played eight games in five days. The coaches’ association also decided to recommend that six teams should be chosen to contest the first division and that a further six should be chosen to contest the second division. If necessary, a third division, to be divorced from the national tournament, should be formed, the coaches agreed. It was decided to hold a coaching clinic in Wellington before March 31. Endeavours are to be made to form a library of Information containing books and films on coaching. The New Zealand Men’s Basketball Coaches’ Association, which was formed at the beginning of the national tournament. will have its base in Wellington.

Colts’ Title To Nelson By the considerable margin of 24 points. Nelson overwhelmed Palmerston North, the North Island champion, in the final of the New Zealand men's basketball colts' (under 18) championship, played in Christchurch on Saturday evening.
