HIS FIRST PORTRAIT.—Sister Gabriella photographs a recently-born baby at the maternity section of the Mercy Hospital, Melbourne. Nuns photograph the babies three days after birth and the photographs are sold to the parents. Prints are ready two days after the photograph is taken, while the mother is still in hospital. The nuns are giving the proceeds to the hospital appeal to be run next year for a new building wing.
