Attracted by what they have heard of the beauty of Christchurch in the spring, five members of the Bellmont Country Women’s Institute. Wellington, are to visit the city later this month to see the blossom and spring flowers for themselves. An itinerary has been arranged by a combmed hospitality committee from the Canterbury, Canterbury East and North Canterbury federations of C.W.1.. Each federation wiM look after the party on different days. During their week-long stay the women will visit the Canterbury Horticultural Society’s Show and the Canterbury federation’s spring show at Yaldhurst. Bay Successful The handcraft bey held at the Industries Fair had proved very successful, states a report from the Canterbury federation. Alfter seeing the demonstration and displays a number of women had expressed interest in joining the organisation. The Friends of St. Helens scheme organised by the federation is ready to be put into operation. Mr W. Godfrey Bowen will be the speaker at the half-yearly meeting, which will be held at Kirwee.
