BIG TRAIN ROBBERY
Ninth Person Charged (N.Z.P.A.-Reuter —Copyright) LINSLADE (Buckinghamshire). Sept. 6. The ninth person charged in connexion with the £2,600,000 mail robbery, a builder alleged to be one of the men involved in the actual hold-up a month ago, appeared in Court at Linslade yesterday. The man, Ronald Arthur Biggs, aged 34, of Redhill, Surrey, was remanded in custody until September 10. The small courtroom was crowded when magistrates heard Detective Chief Inspector Vincent Hankins of the Aylesbury police describe Biggs as “the fourth man arrested in relation to the actual robbery.” The inspector said Biggs had told the police: "You will have to prove it all the way. I am not admiring anything to you people.” Detective Inspector Frank Williams of the Flying Squad, giving evidence of arrest, said he had searched Biggs’ house on Wednesday before taking him to Scotland Yard. At the yard, Biggs had answered questions from a questionnaire but refused to sign the document afterwards.
