FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT
Situation.—-An intense anti-cyclone remains centred to the south of New Zealand. A trough of low pressure over the Tasman Sea is moving slowly eastwards. Forecast:— Canterbury.—Moderate north-easterlies, fresh at times in some exposed places; cloudy areas, with a few patches of light rain, but otherwise fine and cool. Outlook: unsettled. Marlborough and Nelson.—Light to moderate variable winds; a few light showers at first in eastern Marlborough, otherwise partly cloudy and cool. Outlook: cloud increasing and scattered rain likely later. Buller and Westand.—Moderate north-easterlies or easterlies: cloudy with areas of rain spreading from the south: moderate temperatures. Outlook: unsettled.
