INQUIRIES AT FOXTON
Amber Inkpot Destroyed (N.Z. Press Association) PALMERSTON N.. Aug. 25. During the running of the Keri Carter Memorial Steeplechase at Foxton on Saturday. Omber Inkpot broke his near-fore fetlock The horse was destroyed. Yukon was examined by the club’s veterinary surgeon after the running of the same race. He said both of Yukon’s tore ligaments had been sprained. A little over three furlongs from the finish of the M. B. Bergin Handicap, Equal Terms (V. TinJey) had to be checked when in a handy position, due to Gold Spliee (T. J. Mullane) weakening quickly and drifting back through the field Half way down the straight Equal Terms faltered and the horse pulled up lame. He was examined by the club’s veterinary surgeon, ’./ho reported that the horse’s off-fore ligaments were badly sprained.
