AMBASSADOR LEAVES
(N.Z. Press Association) • AUCKLAND, August 25. Mr Anthony B. Akers left Auckland with his family today after spending two years in Wellington as the United States Ambassador. Mr Akers will return to Washington where he will be directed to take up a new diplomatic position assigned to him by President Kennedy. The position will be announced later. “The people in New Zealand are the friendliest In the world,” said Mr Akers. “We will miss the many friends we have made.” He said the stay in this country had been a most gratifying experience for his wife and two daughters. Both of his daughters finished secondary school while in Wellington and attended Victoria University for a time.
