ASHBURTON SEAT
Labour Party Candidate Mr A. G. Braddick, of Fairlie, will contest the Ashburton electorate for the New Zealand Labour Party at the General Election. After considering two nominations, the Ashburton selection committee, which met at Tinwald yesterday, chose Mr Braddick, who is a departmental manager for the Canterbury Farmers’ Cooperative Association. Ltd. Mr Braddick, aged 57. is married, with eight children
Frigate SaiIs.— H.M.NZ.S Pukaki. which was scheduled to sail for the north from Lyttelton on Saturday, left Lyttelton early last evening. The Pukaki was delayed at Lyttelton while a fault in an engine-room condenser was repaired.
