Board To Suggest (N 2 Press Assn.—CopyngMt MELBOURNE, August 21 New Zealand would not choose the names for its decimal currency until next year, the Minister of Finance (Mr H. R. Lake) told the Melbourne “Herald" In a radio-telephone interview reported by the newspaper today. Mr Lake said he did not want to start an “international incident" by commenting on the “royal- as the choice for the Australian basic unit. It was reported in Canberra last night that Australia would approach New Zealand and Britain on decimal currency names after widespread opposition to the name “royal.- in Australia. Mr Lake said New Zealand would set up a board to plan

the change to decimal currency. The board would recommend names for the new coins. Mr Lake had already had preliminary discussions with the Australian Treasurer (Mr H Holt), mainly about synchronising the change, the newspaper said. Mr Lake said he looked forward to meeting Mr Holt again and discussing the subject, either in New Zealand or at the forth-coming Commonwealth Finance Ministers’ conference in London.
