£30,000 Found In Caravan
<N Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) LONDON, August 21. Police have found another £30,000 in bank notes believed to be part of the great train robbery’ loot. The cash was hidden in a caravan near the wood at Dorking, south of London, where £lOO,OOO in dumped notes was picked up last week, police announced today. Since the robbery, 13 days ago, a total of £273,107 has been recovered and five persons have been arrested. Today the police said they were hunting for a man and a woman who bought the caravan and paid for it with £5 notes about 10 days ago They have circulated descriptions of the couple and said they were believed to have a baby and a poodle with them. The "Daily Herald” said today that an underworld ‘•squealer” last night gave
Scotland Yard the full story of the robbery. Detectives took new warrants when they raided the homes of three men named last night, it said. The "squealer” had told the Yard that the £2,500.000 was split among 31 people. The "squealer” said the man who planned the raid took £250.000 as his share and had put it where it was believed no-one would find it. Four other top criminals who took part in the ambush took £200.000 from the “bank,” the "Daily Herald” said. About £600,000 was used to pay amounts to people who helped the raid in various ways. About £1,000,000 was split up in the hands of a "scared” group which was taking “ridiculous chances” to get rid of the money a» soon as possible.
