18 PLAYERS NAMED

Squad To Play North Shore The former English League professional, G. Evans, who is recovering from an operation for a broken nose, is included among 18 players named from which the Technical Invitation XI will be chosen to play against North Shore on Sunday, September 1. The Auckland club, which completed the first leg of a possible national soccer “double" last Saturday by winning the Rothmans tournament, will, on the previous day, meet Nomads at Wellington in the second leg, the Chatham Cup final. The team will travel overnight to Christchurch. Two of the Nomads players —the captain, D. Simmonds, and G. Donaldson—have also been invited to play in the Invitation team. The list of 18 is made up of the Canterbury senior team which will play Otago on the previous day, plus Evans, Donaldson, Simmonds, and four members of the Technical club, B. Chee, I. Drewitt, I. Graham and A. Verham.
