PHYSICAL TRAINING
Boys’ Brigade Competitions Boys from Rangiora, Kalapoi and Christchurch companies took part in the annual physical training competitions of the Canterbury Battalion of the Boys' Brigade in the Christchurch Technical College hall. The contest attracted a large number of entries, and many parents and friends watched the events. Judges of th# competitions commented on the greatlyimproved standard of the boys compared with previous years. They expressed pleasure at the effort taken in the preparation of group exercises and pyramid formations, and in the excellent standard of the boys’ dress. Results were:— Senior.—Mat work: Opawa Baptist 1. St. Martins Anglican and St. Martins Presbyterian, equal. 2. Vaulting, box horse: St. Martins Presbyterian 1, St. Paul's Presbyterian 2, St. Albans Methodist 3. Parallel bars: St. Paul’s Presbyterian 1, St. David’s Presbyterian 2. Junior.—Mat work: Kalapoi Methodist 1, Opawa Baptist 2. Opawa Methodist 3. Vaulting, box horse: St. Martins Anglican 1, Opawa Methodist 2, St. Albans Methodist 3. Free standing exercises: Colombo Street Baptist 1. St. Peter's Presbyterian 2, St. Albans Methodist and Opawa Baptist, equal. 3. Pyramids.—Kaiapoi Methodist 1, St. Peter’s Presbyterian 2, St. David’s Presbyterian 3. The John Burns, Ltd., trophy was won by Opawa Baptist.
