In soaring temperatures they beat their Australian opponents, in singles and doubles, by 96 games to 16. Results (Auckland names first) were Singles—P. Shorter beat F. Bevln, 6-0, 6-1; beat G. Weatherhoa. 6-1. 6-2. D Cae» sidy best. W. Clarke. 6-0 6-0; beat S Stratford. 6-0, 6-0. P. Rogan beat L. Batten. 6-0, 6-0. B Vercoe beat A. Neville. 6-4. 6-3 Doubles.—Cassidy and R. Clarke beat R. Miles and W. Clark, 6-2. 6-1: Rogan and C. Bath beat L. Batten and S. Swalding. 9-1, 9-1.
