Rare Orchid Plants Taken
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. Aug. 20. Thirteen rare orchid plants worth about £lBO have been stolen from South Sea Cymbidiums, Ltd., Scenic drive, Swanson. The manager of South Sea Cymbidiums (Mr A. F. Gronwall) said the plants were stolen from his greenhouse about a mile away from his home by someone who found the key and let himself in. The plants were seedlings that had not bloomed, two in bloom, and a stud plant just coming into flower. Mr Gronwall said the stud plant (used for breeding), a Urge tetrapioid pink named Cleo Sherman, was worth £ 120 and was irreplaceable.
