N.Z. Stand At Sydney Fair "Outstanding”

WELLINGTON, Aug. 19. The New Zealand exhibit at the Sydney trade fair had evoked many favourable comments from New Zealanders who visited the fair, the Minister of Overseas Trade (Mr Marshall) sand today. The fair was the second this year ait which New Zealand exporters displayed their goods to Australian buyers. Forty-five New Zealand exporters entered exhibits in the official New Zealand stand. “The Leader of the New Zealand Associated Chambers of Commerce delegation to Australia, Mr J. W. Holley,

has reported to me that the New Zealand exhibit was outstanding and reflected great credit on the organisers,” said Mr Marshall. The president of the New Zealand Bureau of Importers (Mr C. S. Master) had written to tell him that the two executive members of the bureau who had devised the fair were most impressed by the New Zealand court, said Mr Marshall. They said the outstanding features were the pleasant design and lay-out, the attractive lighting and the pictorial effect of Che outside panels of the court depicting various aspects of the New Zealand scene. “It is pleasing to hear these and other similar comments,” said Mr Marshall. “Exhibitors who co-operated w-ith the Government in making the New Zealand exhibit at Sydney the success it was have unproved their prospects of selling in Australia.

“Statements such as those I have mentioned, however, show that the efforts made have found favour with the sternest critics of New Zealand’s promotional activities overseas—that is New Zealanders who see the result in the course of visits overseas,” said Mr Marshall.
