Wrestling "No Contest” Declared
(NZ Press Association) MASTERTON, Aug. 19. In a professional heavyweight wrestling bout between Rocky Hunter (United States) and Kangaroo Kennedy (Australia), at Masterton tonight, the fight was declared ‘no contest” in the seventh round. The Australian won a fall in the fourth round after a series of dumps. Hunter equalised in round six with an Indian deathlock which had to be “unlocked” by the referee. Mr R. Atkinson, of Wellington The seventh round opened briskly with a senes of elbow jolts from Hunter to Kennedy pinned on the ropes. Kennedy dragged Hunter through into the ringside seats where the two were separated by their seconds and the referee under police supervision.
