GIRL OF 8 SHOT
Called For Schoolmate (N.Z. Press Association) GISBORNE, August 19. An eight-year-old girl died instantly when she was accidentally shot in a house in Te Teko a<t 8.30 a.m. today She was Elaine Kounu, of Okahu road. Te Teko. The girl was shot in the doorway of a neighbouring house where she had gone to call for a schoolmate, McDonald Newha, aged seven. Police believe the tragedy occurred when the boy pointed a rifle ait her and it accidentally discharged.
