First Combined Meeting The first combined annual meeting of the North Canterbury Methodist Women's Missionary Union and the North Canterbury Methodist Women’s' Guild Fel'lowish’jp was held recently ait the Durham street church. A communion service was conducted by the Rev. J. D. GnocoUt and the Rev. H. G. Brown. The new Methodist Women’s Fellowship will come into operation on February 1 next year. Until then, the present executive officers of both groups were elected to stay in office. The Rev. M. J. Campbell spoke on missionary service and said that missionary obligation was ‘‘world-wide and as wide as our world.” He listed ways in which women could enter the missionary life of ttie church. Wherever the church was, there was also a mission field. The guild fellowship membership stood at 1022. says a report from the meeting. Missionary union membership was 777, including 94 gleaners. Receipts for the year totalled £2191. Mrs H. G. Brown, guild fellowship president, presided art the morning session, attended by 165. At the afternoon session, attended by 200, the missionary union president, Mrs G. Armitage, presided and led the devotions.
