TRADE WITH CANADA
Big Increase Expected (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. Aug. 18. A doubling of the volume of tr.de between Canada and New Zealand in the near future was envisaged by the Canadian High Commissioner (Mr K. J. Burbridge) addressing a luncheon meeting yesterday of the Royal Commonwealth Society Mr Burbridge expressed concern about future pat erns of New Zealand trade and the need to explore new markets. Canada was closer to New Zealand by some five or ix thousand miles than Western Europe and this meant faster service and cheaper freight costs. ”1 look for the doubling of the volume of trade between Canada and New Zealand m the very near future and ! am sure this can be done to the great advantage of both our countries.” be said.
