Cycling To Be Sponsored
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON August 16. The New Zealand amateur road cycling championships, to be held at tipper Hutt on October 4 and 5, will be sponsored. It was announced today. This will be the first time a national cycling meeting has been sponsored—the rules were changed to permit it only at the last annual meeting of the New Zealand Cycling Association. In the past non-champion-ship events have been eligible for cash aid. Cycling Is one of the few sports that has allowed trade advertising on competitors’ clothing although this will not be fiermitted at the title meetng
