Campaign Set By Auckland "The Press' Special Sertnce AUCKLAND. Aug. 18 The Auckland Rugby League side will use its backs as much as possible when it attempts to regain the Northern Union Cup from Canterbury at Epsom Show Grounds tomorrow, said its coach (Mr B Robertson' yesterday Auckland intends to play open football and with its wingers, B. T Reidy and K R McCracken, in excellent form, every effort will be made to move the ball towards them. These tactics will test to the utmost the Canterbury loose forward and captain M L. Cooke, and if Auckland has its way Cooke will be a tired man after tomorrow’s match, said Mr Robertson. , ... He said a great deal will depend on the Auckland middle row forward. R. C Ackland, and if the Canterbury forwards play loose then Auckland will b at ,ts He forecast Auckland would win because the side has the attacking ability to cut through the Canterbury defence, and also the efence to repel any Canterbury attacking movements The weather in Auckland today was fine and overcast The oval at the Show Grounds is in quite good condition and unless there is rain tonight, which is unlikely. the conditions will favour open football. The Canterbury team had a light training run this afternoon and all members of the side are reported to be fit.
