FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.—Pressures are low to the east and south-east of New Zealand and a disturbed southwesterly airstream flows over the country. Forecast:— Canterbury.—Fresh south-westerlies; cloudy and cold, with wintry showers and some snow in the high country, the showers gradually becoming less frequent. Outlook: mainly fine. Marlborough and Nelson.—Moderate southerlies, fresh to strong at first in exposed places; occasional showers clearing gradually; some snow in the high country; cold temperatures. Outlook: fine. Buller and Westland.—Moderate south-wester-lies; rain clearing from the south; cold temperatures. Outlook: scattered showers. CHRISTCHURCH READINGS
