Escapes From E. Germany

Since the Berlin wall was built on August 13. 1961. 16.456 East Germans have escaped to West Berlin or West Germany. At least 65 refugees are known to have been killed, 54 of them while trying to reach West Berlin and the others on the East-West German border.
