A.A. ELECTION
Postal Vote For Council The current president of the Automobile Association (Canterbury), Mr L. W. Broadhead, and the vice-pre-sident, Mr G. W. Tench, are unopposed in the election of officers of the association. When nominations for the election closed yesterday, nine members had been named for the five council vacancies. They are: Messrs B. F. Bicknell, E. C. Champion, F. W. Freeman. T. W. Milliken, and R. H. Mottram (all sitting councillors), and L. A. Firkin, N. F. Greenslade, E. F. Johnson, and L H. Wilson. Mr E. R. Casbolt will retain the office of immediate past president. A postal ballot will now be conducted and ballot papers will be issued to all members other than those of the West Coast and Buller branches which nominate their own delegates to the council. The number of ballot papers involved will be about 48,000. The postal ballot will close at 9.30 am., on Monday, October 7, the day preceding the association's annual meeting and the result will be announced at the meeting.
