BARE-KNUCKLE BOXING
Pines Beach Carnival
A bare-knuckle bout, near the site of New Zealand's first such light 101 years ago. will be the feature of a boxing carnival to be held in the Pines Beech
Hall on Tuesday. August 13. The evening is being run by the emergency committee at the Pines and KairakJ Beeches to help raise funds. The first bare-krtuckle fight tn New Zealand was supposed to have been held on the banks al the mouth of the Walmakariri river at Kalrakl Beach in July. 1862 The evening will mainly consist of six amateur bouta. starling at heavy-weight and moving down through the weights with some of Canterbury's best amateurs appearing.
