Professor Left Hospital To Give Lecture

DUNEDIN, Aug. 7. Professor N. A. Graebner. a visiting American historian, was back in bed at Wakari Hospital tonight after being allowed up briefly by his doctors to give a public lecture. Professor Graebner collapsed soon after his arrival in the city from Wellington on Tuesday evening. He was taken to Wakari Hospital and remained there today, but he was determined to give a lecture on “Recent Trends in American Foreign Policy.” He arrived on time at the Red Lecture Theatre at the University of Otago and gave a forceful and lucid address. It was only later
that his audience learned Professor Graebner had taken short leave from hospital.
“I'm really feeling fine now," he said as he left by car to return to hospitaL He said he was keen to be out by tomorrow afternoon to meet lecturers and students in the history department of the university. “I can’t be lying up there in hospital when there is so much to see on the campus.” he said.
Professor Graebner. professor of history at Illinois University is a Fulbright visitor at the University of : Queensland this year. He will i leave Dunedin on Saturday
