N.Z. RIFLE TEAM WINS SHOOT
(N.Z. Press Association) TIMAHU. August 9 A 20-man team representing the rest of New Zealand gained a narrow win over Victoria in a smallbore rifle post shoot completed recently. The Dominion team held Its shoot at Oamaru during Queen’s Birthday week-end and compiled a total of 7903.580 points. Today, the secretary of the New Zealand Smallbore Rifle Association (Mr C. F. McKenzie. Timaru). said the Victorian score-sheet just received totalled 7898 432 points.
Chimney Fire.—One unit from the Sydenham fire station attended a chimney fire at 26 Dunn street at 620 pm. There was no damage.
