It was the first time a vessel had been directed to the port solely for the purpose of taking on a cargo of frozen fish. Included in the consignment, which was valued at £6OOO, were flounders and sole for the hotel trade. 12ounce consumer packs for a large chain store, and assorted gurnard and tarakihi packs for Australian wholesalers.
